Planning Engineer

About the role

Lesaffre Egypt for Yeast Industries, a joint-stock company producing baking yeasts, yeast derivatives and extracts, is hiring a Planning Engineer in Nubaria City. The role reports to the project manager and works with cross-functional teams to plan and control project schedules, taking HSE policies into account.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project scope, objectives and deliverables.
• Develop a comprehensive global timeline and create and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software, accounting for equipment lead times, construction timelines, permitting, co-activity and commissioning.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, identify and monitor the critical path, and propose timing optimisation solutions.
• Resolve project roadblocks and bottlenecks with the project team.
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, including corrective action recommendations, and facilitate project meetings.
• Prepare and communicate a 3-week look-ahead schedule and a specific schedule for commissioning and start-up, coordinating with Operations.
• Maintain project documentation such as status reports and lessons learned, and review schedules regularly with suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure all HSE policies are reflected in the schedule and guide project team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in project planning, specifically in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of managing time schedules on industrial projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes, equipment and construction methodologies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Project management software: MS Project and Primavera.
• Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
