Platform Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join a high‑performing international engineering team building a large‑scale digital product. This remote position (based in Egypt) works on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, security and production reliability, aligning with UK business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure migration and modernization initiatives using Terraform.
• Design, manage and optimise AWS services such as ECS Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge and VPC networking.
• Migrate legacy CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to modern, maintainable setups.
• Implement secure access and edge security with Cloudflare, including Zero Trust, tunnels, connectors and CDN services.
• Maintain and enhance internal automation tools and developer workflows.
• Debug complex production and build issues across infrastructure, pipelines, services and deployment environments.
• Improve developer experience by building reliable “paved roads” for faster, safer releases.
• Support event‑driven automation and internal tooling using Python.
• Troubleshoot build ecosystem problems involving NPM, UV and Gradle.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mindset – investigate root causes and implement lasting fixes.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in English.
• Experience with modernising or migrating legacy infrastructure.

Required skills

• Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• AWS – ECS Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, VPC.
• Cloudflare – Zero Trust, tunnels, connectors, CDN.
• CI/CD tools – Jenkins or similar pipeline systems.
• Python scripting/automation.
• Debugging across infrastructure, networking and application build failures.
• Familiarity with NPM, UV and Gradle build tools.
