Presser – Laundry Operations

About the role

The Presser works within the Housekeeping & Laundry department of a luxury hotel, handling the processing of soiled and cleaned laundry. This full‑time, onsite position ensures that all linen and garments are treated, cleaned, and returned to guests and staff in a timely and professional manner.

Key responsibilities

• Remove and separate soiled laundry from chutes or housekeeping carts.
• Operate commercial washing, dry‑cleaning and drying machines according to company standards.
• Apply appropriate stain treatments based on fabric type and stain characteristics.
• Maintain accurate records of loads, poundage, and items processed.
• Transport washed items to dryers, load machines correctly, and manage dryer screens, filters, and drain traps.
• Monitor chemical levels in containers, report any pump issues, and follow safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment for defects and ensure a clean, professional appearance.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and navigating confined spaces.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior laundry or housekeeping experience required.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses needed.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, walking, or sitting.
• Willingness to follow all company safety, security, and confidentiality policies.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial washing and dry‑cleaning machines.
