Principal Technical Office Engineer – Architectural

About the role

The Principal Technical Office Engineer – Architectural leads the architectural technical office, ensuring that all shop drawings, as‑built documents and construction details meet project requirements and industry standards. You will work closely with design, structural, MEP and subcontractor teams to deliver accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Study contract documents, schedules, design drawings and BOQs to fully understand project specifications.
• Maintain and update the shop drawing log, ensuring timely submission for consultant approval.
• Prepare and manage RFIs to resolve missing or conflicting technical information.
• Review subcontractor and outsourced shop drawings, coordinate approvals and address discrepancies.
• Lead the architectural technical office team, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
• Participate in troubleshooting technical issues on site and report them to the Technical Office Manager.
• Produce accurate as‑built drawings and hand them over to the consultant at project close‑out.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
• Create detailed construction drawings for all architectural items.
• Coordinate architectural documents with structural and MEP disciplines.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in architectural technical office work on large‑scale projects (hospitals, malls, hotels preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, communication and teamwork abilities.
