Procurement Assistant Manager – Sourcing

About the role

The Procurement Assistant Manager supports the execution of procurement strategies to ensure cost‑efficiency, timely material availability, and strong supplier performance. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to drive operational procurement activities while adhering to company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement plans in line with approved strategies and business needs, ensuring timely sourcing and purchase of materials, services, and supplies.
• Follow up on purchase orders, resolve supply issues, and maintain accurate procurement records and system updates.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance, maintaining strong relationships.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives, conduct price comparisons, market analysis, and assist in budget tracking.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, obtain proper approvals, and uphold documentation standards.
• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, Finance, and Warehouse teams to align requirements and deliveries.
• Supervise procurement officers/buyers, provide guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement within the function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIPS is a plus.
• 5–8 years of experience in foreign procurement and strategic sourcing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial environments; logistics experience is mandatory.
