Procurement Engineer I (French Speaker)

About the role

The Procurement Engineer I supports the end‑to‑end Direct Procurement process within the Central Procurement Office. Reporting to the Sr. Manager – Procurement, the role ensures that every step from bid to purchase order is executed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with governance and service‑delivery standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier onboarding, perform quality checks, and conduct basic financial and due‑diligence evaluations.
• Prepare and issue RFPs and bid packages using CPO templates and workflows.
• Conduct commercial evaluations, pricing comparisons, and risk checks alongside technical teams.
• Draft recommendation summaries and negotiation positions for senior review.
• Create PO/LOA packages, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Maintain structured procurement files, trackers, logs, and dashboards in SAP Ariba.
• Apply BMS processes, DOA/LOA rules, and procurement governance standards; flag deviations and support audits.
• Coordinate routine communications with suppliers and internal stakeholders across Canada and the USA.

Required profile

• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes.
• Experience with end‑to‑end procurement activities or a related supply‑chain function.
