Procurement Engineer

About the role

Aqualia is seeking a Procurement Engineer to support a major desalination project in Marsa Matruh, Egypt. You will work in a highly technical EPC environment, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services that are critical to project success and regional water security.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare purchasing documents, including purchase orders for materials, equipment, services, and construction sub‑contracts.
• Manage the full subcontract administration cycle from pre‑qualification to award and contract execution.
• Support procurement strategies through risk assessment, mitigation planning, and market analysis.
• Monitor procurement activities against project schedules, tracking progress with matrices and control systems.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate cost‑optimisation opportunities, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Review quotations, commercial proposals, invoices, and contract documentation for accuracy and cost control.
• Maintain the approved vendor database and supplier qualification process.
• Prepare performance and benchmarking reports on quality, delivery, technical compliance, and commercial competitiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 6–10 years of procurement, supply‑chain, material planning, or subcontract administration experience in EPC, construction, water, desalination, or energy projects.
• Proven experience with large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical abilities and understanding of procurement processes.
