Procurement Lead

About the role

The Procurement Lead will drive sourcing activities for a meat‑processing company, ensuring the right suppliers, competitive pricing, and compliance with company policies. This role partners closely with internal teams to support cost‑effective procurement and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify new and existing suppliers that meet company needs.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate contract terms, including price, delivery schedule, and payment conditions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements, and follow up to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against business criteria, resolving issues as they arise.
• Analyze industry and demand trends to support senior management in developing sourcing strategies.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders on new projects and provide cost‑analysis recommendations.
• Prepare expenditure reports, identify spending trends, and suggest process or technology improvements.
• Stay up‑to‑date on market developments to mitigate risk and capture new opportunities.

Required profile

• BSc/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 3‑4 years proven experience in a procurement role within the meat industry.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing strategies and contract compliance.
