Procurement Officer – Mining Site (Marsa Alam)

About the role

The Procurement Officer will ensure cost‑effective and timely acquisition of goods and services for the Sukari gold mine, supporting uninterrupted on‑site operations. Working within the Supply department, the role converts purchase requisitions into orders, manages vendor relationships and collaborates closely with logistics to meet a target of zero weekly overdue items.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor assigned purchase requisitions daily, verify specifications, and generate draft purchase orders within two days.
• Release final purchase orders within seven days of assignment.
• Identify, evaluate and select regional and international suppliers; prepare commercial comparisons and negotiate price, quality, delivery and payment terms.
• Enter high‑volume purchase data into the site ERP system, maintaining zero overdue items weekly.
• Track urgent and delayed orders, update ETA metrics and coordinate with logistics, customs and transportation teams.
• Arrange advance and progress payments, reconcile account queries and manage supplier disputes and non‑conformance reports.
• Maintain soft and hard‑copy archives of purchasing documentation and produce weekly expediting and monthly overdue reports.

Required profile

• Formal Commercial or Engineering degree (Bac+3 or higher).
• Experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder coordination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for purchase order processing.
