Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing vendors that provide medical equipment, IT services, marketing agencies, pharmaceutical products, laboratory services, and facility maintenance. The role ensures cost‑efficient acquisition of high‑quality supplies while aligning with OneHealth objectives, risk‑mitigation strategies, and ethical sourcing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate budgets, set cost parameters and develop purchasing plans for equipment, services and supplies.
• Conduct comprehensive cost analyses and make purchasing decisions based on value and risk.
• Register new vendors following AXA registration procedures and maintain an up‑to‑date supplier database.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure the best deals while ensuring compliance with anti‑bribery and transparency policies.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery times and quality, and prepare reports on cost savings and risk mitigation for senior management.
• Incorporate sustainable procurement practices, such as sourcing from environmentally certified suppliers.
• Collaborate with headquarters and clinic teams to address urgent procurement needs and support technical‑financial comparisons.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, accounting, business management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement or a similar purchasing role.
• Strong understanding of vendor compliance, contract negotiation and risk‑mitigation strategies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software for real‑time inventory and compliance tracking.
• Ability to perform detailed cost analysis and financial comparisons.
