Production Engineer I

About the role

We are looking for a Production Engineer I to lead the safe and efficient manufacturing of pipes and fittings, ensuring production targets are met while minimizing waste and maintaining quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong HSE culture, ensuring compliance with safety, health, quality and environmental procedures.
• Supervise the production process, guaranteeing that finished products meet client specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor raw‑material usage to reduce waste and oversee machinery operation to maximise output.
• Ensure accurate and timely logging of materials and labour hours in the BAAN ERP system and close orders upon delivery.
• Coordinate with maintenance, store, technical, and QC teams to guarantee machine availability, material supply, issue resolution and product release.
• Identify defective products, recommend corrective actions and support continuous improvement.
• Promote employee engagement, conduct performance appraisals and set annual objectives for the production team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
• 2‑3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in fiberglass pipe production.

Required skills

• Knowledge of pipe machinery and production processes.
• Understanding of product specifications and material handling (hazards, shelf life, storage, resin mixing).
• Familiarity with quality standards and QA/QC processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using the BAAN ERP system for material and time tracking.
