Professor in Electronics – CPS, Embedded Systems & IoT

About the role

The German University in Cairo is seeking a highly qualified academic to join its Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology. The position, effective September 2026, focuses on teaching and research in Cyber‑Physical Systems, embedded hardware/software co‑design, and Internet of Things technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a research group dedicated to CPS and IoT.
• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering computer organization, control theory, micro‑controllers, real‑time systems, Embedded C, CPS and IoT.
• Supervise bachelor, master and PhD theses.
• Develop hands‑on laboratory modules using platforms such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
• Establish collaborations with industry partners and international academic institutions.
• Secure research funding through grants and industry projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental service.

Required profile

• PhD in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with a focus on CPS, Embedded Systems or IoT.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Relevant industrial experience in hardware/software co‑design of CPS/IoT solutions.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
