Professor/Lecturer in Graphic & Interaction Design

About the role

The German University in Cairo is seeking a Professor or Lecturer for its Graphic Design Department, focusing on Interaction Design. The appointment starts in September 2026 and will involve teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a campus‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses that teach visual structuring of information for digital platforms (mobile, tablet, desktop).
• Guide students in planning, designing, prototyping, and presenting digital concepts with a strong emphasis on user experience.
• Lead research initiatives, establish a design research cluster, and supervise master’s theses.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on joint design projects.

Required profile

• Professional experience in interface design for mobile applications and responsive web solutions.
• Strong background in graphic layout, typography, and visual language systems.
• Knowledge of user‑centered research methods and service design.
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse colleagues and motivate students.

Required skills

• Proficiency with contemporary prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
