Professor/Lecturer – Interactive Media Design

About the role

The German University in Cairo seeks a highly qualified Professor or Lecturer to lead research and teaching in interactive media‑based systems within the Graphic Design and Media Design programmes. The appointment starts in September 2026 or February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses covering design, technology, and methodology for digital media products.
• Establish and lead a research group in Graphic and Media Design.
• Promote and supervise graduate and undergraduate research projects.
• Attract externally funded projects in chosen design areas.
• Develop and oversee interactive design labs.
• Engage in academic collaborations with partner universities.
• Perform mentoring, administrative duties, and curriculum development.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent qualification with a proven research record.
• Demonstrated teaching and practical expertise in graphic and media design.
• Commitment to progressive, self‑organized design education.
• Understanding of design implications in social, cultural, economic, or technological contexts.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal and management abilities.
• Experience working with culturally diverse teams.
