Project Manager – Roots For Growth (Assiut)

About the role

The Roots for Growth Project Manager will lead the delivery of a multi‑year, results‑based project in Assiut Governorate. The programme aims to empower vulnerable households with children by supporting household‑led micro‑enterprises, fostering sustainable income growth and improving child well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full implementation cycle of the 27‑month project, including four cohorts of 200 micro‑enterprises each.
• Manage project budgets, financial reporting and payment of performance‑based indicators in line with SCI and donor requirements.
• Coordinate with local incubators, technical partners and market actors to deliver entrepreneurship training, seed funding, coaching and market linkages.
• Facilitate quarterly learning workshops, co‑design sessions and gender‑responsive, child‑sensitive monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding level 3 standards and maintain accurate vetting records.
• Adapt programme activities during humanitarian emergencies, adjusting work hours and priorities as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing development or micro‑enterprise programmes in low‑resource contexts.
• Strong understanding of gender‑responsive and child‑sensitive approaches.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including extended hours during emergencies.
