Python Backend Engineer – Associate (Django)

About the role

We are seeking a high‑performing Associate Backend Engineer (Python & Django) to take ownership of building and delivering scalable, secure, and high‑quality backend solutions. In this role you will contribute to system design, lead backend feature delivery, and support the integration of modern AI‑enabled capabilities into enterprise applications.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of backend features from requirements through design, development, testing and deployment.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using Python and Django.
• Contribute to backend architecture decisions, data modelling and performance optimisation.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and micro‑services ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product stakeholders and solution architects to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality through reviews, automated testing and documentation, and optimise applications for performance, scalability and security.
• Support production deployments, monitoring and issue resolution, and mentor junior developers.
• Integrate AI/ML‑driven features and work with LLM or NLP services within backend systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of backend development experience with demonstrated ownership of feature delivery.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django (or similar frameworks).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast‑paced delivery environment.
