Quality Control Inspector – Painting

About the role

The Quality Control Inspector – Painting ensures that all surface preparation, coating, painting and corrosion protection activities meet project specifications, international standards and client requirements. You will conduct inspections, monitor environmental conditions and maintain comprehensive quality records throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting and coating operations for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Monitor temperature, humidity and dew point before and during painting activities.
• Verify surface cleanliness, profile and preparation quality prior to coating application.
• Measure and record Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT).
• Perform adhesion tests, holiday/pinhole detection and other coating inspections.
• Ensure coating materials are stored, mixed and applied according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Witness and document inspection and testing activities, identifying non‑conformities and supporting corrective actions.
• Maintain safety and environmental compliance for all painting and coating operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of quality control inspection experience in painting and coating.
• Experience in industrial, oil & gas, steel or construction projects is preferred.
• Mandatory BGAS‑CSWIP Grade 2 Painting Inspector (TWI) certification; additional NACE, FROSIO or ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certifications are advantageous.
