Radio Optimization Engineer

About the role

You will join a team of Quality of Service and Radio Optimisation engineers responsible for RAN engineering studies, quality monitoring and optimisation across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G (and future 6G) radio features. The role supports subsidiaries in technology trials, configuration consistency and continuous improvement of radio performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse network KPIs and propose corrective actions.
• Implement engineering rules, audits and support trials for radio configuration and Group recommendations.
• Assist subsidiaries with local trials on new radio technologies.
• Analyse drive‑test data and call traces for QoS campaigns and cluster acceptance.
• Conduct regular radio configuration audits and operate C‑SON optimisation tools.
• Provide Level 1 support to local teams for radio optimisation.

Required profile

• 1‑10+ years of experience in mobile telecommunications engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in radio optimisation or related fields.
• Fluent in French or English.
• Strong business skills: listening to customer needs, influencing stakeholders and collaborating across organisations.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of mobile network architecture and interfaces.
• Expertise in radio procedures such as selection, reselection, handover, paging, CSFB and VoLTE.
• Solid understanding of 3GPP standards and L3 protocol messages.
• Radio engineering experience for 2G/3G/4G/5G access networks.
• Proficiency in optimisation, troubleshooting and radio‑engineering tools.
• Familiarity with RAN equipment from Nokia, Huawei and Ericsson.
• Experience with drive‑test tools and radio dimensioning/design (asset).
