Record to Report (R2R) Tower Lead

About the role

The Record to Report (R2R) Tower Lead will head the end‑to‑end R2R function for multiple retail entities within Majid Al Futtaim Holding. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the role ensures accurate, timely and IFRS‑compliant financial reporting across all markets while driving governance, automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for several entities, guaranteeing accurate financial statements.
• Oversee balance‑sheet integrity by reviewing journals, reconciliations, provisions and high‑risk accounting areas.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, tax regulations, audit requirements and group reporting standards.
• Act as escalation point for complex accounting issues, operational risks and service‑delivery challenges.
• Partner with Business Units, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting and other stakeholders to align financial operations with business needs.
• Develop and mentor Process Managers and Associate Managers through coaching, succession planning and performance management.
• Drive process standardisation, ERP enhancements, automation initiatives and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs, audit outcomes and reporting quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce with a professional qualification (CPA, CMA or IFRS certification).
• 12+ years of experience in finance and R2R operations within large, multi‑entity organisations.
• Proven leadership of sizable R2R teams and shared‑services environments across multiple countries.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting and balance‑sheet management.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP or other enterprise ERP systems.
• Expert use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Power BI for reporting and analytics.
