Reservations Clerk

About the role

The Reservations Clerk supports the hotel’s front‑office operations by handling all reservation requests, changes and cancellations. This full‑time position ensures guests receive accurate information and a smooth booking experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process reservation requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax or mail.
• Identify guest needs, determine appropriate room type and verify availability.
• Explain guarantee, special rate and cancellation policies to callers.
• Document and accommodate special requests and answer questions about property facilities and services.
• Apply sales techniques to maximize revenue and input correct codes and rates for complimentary rooms, employee discounts, travel‑agent rates and wholesale reservations.
• Follow escalation procedures for guest concerns and adhere to all company policies and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets and ensure guest privacy and security.
• Provide courteous telephone etiquette, assist individuals with disabilities and support team goals.
• Lift, move or carry objects up to 10 pounds and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
