Scrub Nurse

About the role

The Scrub Nurse works full‑time in the operating rooms of El Mansoura University Emergency Hospital. The position supports surgical teams by preparing the theatre, maintaining sterility, and assisting throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and arrange all sterile instruments and equipment before each case.
• Pass instruments to surgeons, maintain aseptic technique, and monitor the sterile field during surgery.
• Support pre‑operative and post‑operative workflows, including patient positioning and equipment set‑up.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth procedures.
• Document nursing interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in emergency surgeries and adhere to infection‑control standards.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered nurse with a valid license and completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Strong foundation in nursing practice, patient assessment and peri‑operative care.
• Knowledge of medical and surgical principles, especially in emergency and orthopedic settings.
• Previous experience in an operating‑room or scrub‑nurse role preferred.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize tasks and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, continuous learning and compliance with regulatory standards.
