Semisolid Operator - Egypt Manufacturing

About the role

GSK manufactures and supplies medicines and vaccines through its network of 37 sites, and is looking for a Semisolid Operator to work on-site at its Egypt manufacturing facility. You will operate and monitor semisolid production equipment, follow written procedures and work with operations, maintenance and quality teams. The role suits practical problem-solvers who communicate clearly, act safely and take ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, set up and monitor semisolid production equipment to meet safety, quality and production targets.
• Complete accurate production and batch records and follow written procedures.
• Perform line clearances, cleaning and shift handovers to keep the area safe and compliant.
• Support preventive and unplanned maintenance and work with engineers to reduce downtime.
• Report issues, support investigations and help implement corrective actions.
• Suggest and support simple continuous improvement ideas to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical or vocational diploma is an advantage.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in manufacturing, processing or technical operations.
• Willingness to work on-site and follow shift patterns, including nights or weekends as required.
• Ability to follow written procedures, complete accurate records and maintain good attendance.
• Strong safety mindset and commitment to workplace and personal hygiene.
• Willingness to learn digital production systems such as SAP or other electronic record systems.

Preferred qualification

• 2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food or other regulated manufacturing.
• Technical diploma or associate degree in a relevant field.
• Basic English reading skills to follow procedures and documentation.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and data integrity principles.
• Experience in continuous improvement or use of improvement tools, basic computer skills and experience with electronic batch records or ERP systems.
