Senior Accountant – Cairo

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be based in Cairo and will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management and general‑ledger transactions. The role ensures accurate month‑end close, prepares supporting reconciliations and guarantees compliance with corporate tax, VAT and other statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices from local and international suppliers, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
• Enter invoices, prepare payment batches, and monitor payment status for checks and transfers.
• Maintain vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile balances each month.
• Post and follow up on customer invoices, monitor receivable balances, and reconcile customer accounts.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end journal entries, accruals and supporting schedules.
• Perform trial‑balance reviews, ensure proper GL postings, and produce financial reports.
• Maintain strong knowledge of corporate tax, VAT and related statutory obligations.
• Liaise with internal departments, vendors and customers to address inquiries and ensure smooth financial operations.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience (approximately 84 months).
• Demonstrated expertise in handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles.
• Solid understanding of tax regulations, month‑end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Ability to work with local and international suppliers and customers.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
