Senior Analyst – Banking Legal Services (Project, Asset Finance & Export Development)

About the role

The Senior Analyst in Banking Legal Services will support the Legal Department in delivering high‑quality legal advice for the Bank’s trade‑finance activities across Africa. Reporting to the Director, Banking Legal Services, the role contributes to the Bank’s mission of expanding African trade while ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Work with internal staff and external parties to assess and structure transactions.
• Conduct deal appraisals, legal due diligence and prepare transaction documentation to protect the Bank’s interests.
• Negotiate legal documents with counterparties under management guidance.
• Provide legal advice on risks, constraints, options and recommended approaches.
• Review documentation arising from financing and non‑financing activities.
• Manage and monitor legal workstreams for ongoing transactions.
• Support the development and delivery of the Bank’s legal services strategy.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in English Common Law from a recognised university.
• Qualified solicitor in a recognised common‑law jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3 years of professional legal practice, preferably in banking and finance.
