Senior Cost Control Accountant

About the role

The Senior Cost Control Accountant will lead cost monitoring and reporting for construction projects, ensuring expenses stay within approved budgets and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database.
• Plan and record variable costs such as raw material purchases and operational expenses.
• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and prepare budgeting reports for the company and each department.
• Analyze profit margins, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cost forecasts, and assist in month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Identify cost‑effective solutions, monitor project cost estimates, and verify expense reports against project circumstances.
• Coordinate with HR, payroll, accounting, and finance to ensure accurate cost tracking.
• Gather cost data from suppliers or subcontractors, prepare bid estimates, and conduct variance analysis for projects.
• Validate cost of sales across all project outlets, conduct physical inventories, and monitor cycle‑count programs.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience as a Cost Accountant or Cost Analyst.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Construction industry background.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong time‑management abilities.
• Integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Odoo or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Cost accounting and cost analysis techniques.
• Understanding of GAAP.
