Senior Data Engineer – Intelligent Solutions

About the role

VOIS, the strategic arm of Vodafone Group, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable data solutions. You will improve data systems, ensure data quality and enable stakeholders to make data‑driven decisions across a global telecom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and manage raw data from existing collection systems, recommending enhancements.
• Design, build and implement new data collection and processing pipelines.
• Ensure data platforms are secure, scalable and accessible to relevant users.
• Maintain and document code for future upgrades and system maintenance.
• Provide guidance, training and support to stakeholders on newly implemented solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• ETL processes and data modelling.
• Data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• SQL proficiency.
• Programming in Python or Java.
• Linux environments, shell scripting.
• Big‑data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
• Cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and data‑warehousing solutions.
• Knowledge of data governance practices.
