Senior Electrical Technician

About the role

Viatris Egypt is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to ensure the reliable operation of its production and packaging equipment. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, and supporting project installations and start‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for machines and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Support projects, installations, and start‑up activities.
• Maintain electrical and control systems, including motors, drives, sensors, HMIs, PLCs, servo and vision systems, and related instrumentation.
• Develop and keep up‑to‑date maintenance procedures, technical documentation, electrical drawings, and equipment standards.
• Assess equipment obsolescence risks and create replacement or modernization plans for critical components.
• Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and components regularly to ensure functionality and code compliance.
• Diagnose malfunctions, devise repair plans, and perform repairs on wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
• Record all maintenance and repair activities, including supplies used.
• Apply GMP, environmental, health and safety procedures to guarantee regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the FMCG or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of classic control and electrical components.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (preferred).
• Ability to create wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or Eplan (preferred).
