Senior Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead all maintenance and engineering activities at our Mighty Crisp factory, covering production lines (pop‑corn, rice‑popping, flow‑wrap packing) and utilities such as compressors, boilers, HVAC, chillers and water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a maintenance plan for all production lines and utilities.
• Perform daily maintenance, minor repairs and changeovers hands‑on alongside technicians.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs as needed.
• Investigate breakdowns, analyse failure patterns and apply preventive measures.
• Monitor equipment performance metrics (OEE, MTTR, MTBF, breakdown rate) and initiate corrective actions.
• Create and improve SOPs for maintenance, repairs, changeovers and major overhauls.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality and food‑safety standards (NFSA, FSSC 22000) using LOTO, work permits and food‑grade discipline.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, critical stock levels, usage control and purchase requests.
• Maintain detailed equipment records, including history, modifications and performance trends.
• Coach and develop maintenance technicians, assigning daily work tasks.
• Design and deliver training programmes for technicians, engineers and operators.
• Coordinate activities with Production, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, HSE, Procurement and Finance.
• Oversee third‑party service providers and OEM suppliers, handling contracts, evaluations and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–6 years of maintenance experience in the food industry or FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting ability; able to work as a technician when required.
• Solid knowledge of food‑safety standards (NFSA, FSSC 22000, ISO).
• Excellent planning, organization and time‑management skills.
• Effective communication and cross‑functional coordination.
• Audit‑oriented, systematic and detail‑driven approach.

Required skills

• Experience with CMMS or maintenance‑planning software.
• Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
• Basic Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
