Senior Manager, Data Architecture

About the role

PwC ETIC is looking for a Senior Manager, Data Architecture (Data Architect) with over 10 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-level data platforms, with a focus on hyperscale platforms. The role defines, creates and oversees scalable data architectures so that organizations can use data for strategic business initiatives. A strong background with cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of scalable, flexible data architectures for complex business needs across platforms and environments, including data models, data flow diagrams and integration architectures for transactional and analytical systems.
• Design and implement data platforms that integrate with on-premise or cloud environments, and architect end-to-end data pipelines (ingestion, storage, processing, analytics).
• Collaborate with cloud engineering and DevOps teams to deploy, monitor and optimise cloud data solutions.
• Integrate data governance (quality, metadata, lineage, regulatory compliance) and data security (encryption, access control, GDPR, CCPA) into the architecture.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and work with business stakeholders, data scientists and analysts to deliver tailored solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, mentor junior architects and data engineers, and stay current on industry trends.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and enterprise data platforms.
• Good experience with hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a proven track record of cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, warehouses and pipelines.
• Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Google Professional Data Engineer, CDMP.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and to influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Cloud data technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Databricks.
• Data modelling, data warehousing and ETL/ELT.
• Big data tools and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Data governance, security and compliance frameworks.
