Senior Mechanic / Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanic / Maintenance Technician to lead preventive maintenance and complex repairs for our packaging production equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, project leadership, and mentoring junior mechanics to ensure reliable, safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks including inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, part cleaning, tightening, adjustments, part replacement, and sensor calibration.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and CMMS to assess equipment condition and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues, determine required materials, and execute overhauls and component rebuilds.
• Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and work orders; validate quality of work orders submitted by others.
• Manage workshop tools, inventory, and supplies; coordinate with store clerk to maintain accurate stock.
• Lead projects for installation, modification, or relocation of machinery, following technical documents, blueprints, and P&IDs.
• Identify and implement process improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Train and advise junior mechanics, serving as a subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance projects and mentor junior staff.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
