Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer

About the role

Atkins is seeking a Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer to join its Cairo studio. You will lead the creation of bilingual (Arabic/English) wayfinding systems for large‑scale urban, retail, hospitality and mixed‑use projects across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive signage and wayfinding strategies from concept through installation.
• Produce bilingual design documentation, including sign location plans, message schedules, sign families and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, landscape designers, branding consultants and client representatives across multiple geographies.
• Coordinate site audits, stakeholder presentations and oversee production and installation to ensure compliance with regional accessibility standards and cultural norms.
• Stay updated on material innovations, fabrication techniques and sustainability practices relevant to the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in signage and wayfinding design, with a strong portfolio of international or Middle‑East projects.
• Deep familiarity with Arabic typography, cultural symbolism and regional design codes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior designers.
