Senior Static Mechanical Engineer (Gas Processing)

About the role

The Senior Static Mechanical Engineer will support a live gas‑processing plant, ensuring the integrity and safe operation of pressure‑retaining equipment throughout its lifecycle. You will work closely with operations, inspection, maintenance and project teams to deliver reliable, inspectable and maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior engineering support for piping, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, fired heaters and valves.
• Assess equipment condition, degradation, fitness‑for‑service and technical risk to guide safe operating decisions.
• Review inspection findings, anomaly reports and repair options, and define risk‑based recommendations.
• Lead integrity assessments, including remaining‑life evaluations, critical‑thickness checks and pressure‑system justifications.
• Translate integrity data into actionable maintenance, repair or monitoring plans.
• Support anomaly tracking, management of change (MoC) and brownfield project scopes.
• Review design changes, material selections and contractor proposals for compliance with standards.
• Contribute to shutdown planning, failure investigations and lessons‑learned activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in static mechanical engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector.
• Strong knowledge of pressure‑system codes, standards and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to make independent, risk‑based engineering judgments.
• Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Senior‑level expertise with a focus on safety, reliability and maintainability.
