Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Tax Department within the Finance sector of a leading pharmaceutical company. The role will manage statutory tax filings, oversee the Egyptian Tax Authority portal and E‑Invoicing system, and act as the company’s representative during tax inspections and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, ensuring input and output tax are reconciled before deadlines.
• Prepare the annual Corporate Tax return and supporting schedules.
• Calculate and file monthly Payroll Tax in line with payroll records.
• Prepare and submit Withholding Tax (WHT) returns and issue WHT certificates.
• Manage submissions and records on the ETA portal and E‑Invoicing system.
• Represent the Tax Department during tax authority inspections and respond to auditor queries.
• Coordinate with external auditing firms on tax‑related documentation and reconciliations.
• Reconcile tax accounts against the general ledger and report to Finance management.
• Monitor changes in Egyptian tax law and flag compliance risks early.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting major).
• Minimum 3 years of solid experience in tax accounting.
• Excellent knowledge of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) portal and E‑Invoicing system.
• Expertise in preparing VAT, Corporate Tax, Payroll Tax, and Withholding Tax returns.
• Proven experience dealing with auditing firms and handling tax inspections/audits.
