Senior Vessel Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Vessel Operator to lead vessel coordination and port operations, ensuring safe, efficient turnarounds across Egyptian ports. The role serves as the primary liaison between ship owners, charterers, agents and port authorities, delivering high‑quality operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee vessel stay in port, guaranteeing compliance with maritime regulations, port authority requirements and company standards.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, Cargo Manifests, Statements of Facts and Mate’s Receipts.
• Calculate Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDA) and estimate port costs for all Egyptian ports.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of draft limits, berth availability and operational constraints.
• Act as the main point of contact for vessel‑related communications, providing timely updates to clients, agents and internal teams.
• Identify and resolve operational issues proactively, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in vessel operations, including port calls and Suez Canal transits.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work extended or irregular hours as operational needs dictate.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of PDA preparation and port cost structures.
• Solid understanding of vessel operations, maritime regulations and port operations.
• Proficiency in shipping documentation processes and requirements.
