Senior/Lead Urban Designer – Cairo

About the role

Dar’s Planning & Urban Design Department is looking for a Senior/Lead Urban Designer to join its Cairo Design Center. The role sits within a multidisciplinary creative team and focuses on delivering high‑impact urban design and master‑planning solutions for regional and international projects across the Gulf and MENA regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of high‑quality urban design and master‑planning concepts from conceptual through visionary stages.
• Deliver innovative, large‑scale urban design solutions while ensuring compliance with company QA/QC standards.
• Act as Group Leader or Project Manager on assigned projects, overseeing timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Prepare and present urban design graphics, visualisations, reports, and presentation materials.
• Represent Dar in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and external consultants, communicating design ideas clearly.
• Coordinate with architects, planners, economists, and engineering teams to integrate multidisciplinary inputs.
• Supervise, guide, and mentor junior designers, planners, and interns, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Mid‑senior to senior‑level experience in urban design and master planning on large‑scale projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project delivery.
• Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and promoting teamwork.
