Shift Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Engineer to join our engineering and facilities team at a leading international hotel in New Cairo. The role ensures reliable operation of mechanical, electrical and safety systems across the property, supporting guest comfort and safety during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges and meters; locate and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and maintain inventory and purchase order logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks, including fire‑pump and generator run tests, and inspect fire‑sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in developing disaster‑response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report hazards and complete required safety training.
• Operate power lifts and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, reaching overhead, and navigating stairs.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
