Shift Leader

About the role

Yara International is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee production operations at its Al Mansurah facility. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing of fertilizer and related chemical products while leading a diverse team of operators and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all production activities comply with Yara's HSE policies, legislation and Golden Rules.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, workplace organization and PPE usage.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the production team, providing training, onboarding and safety inductions.
• Monitor daily production, align with plans and quality targets, and use SCADA/DCS systems to track process parameters.
• Coordinate with utilities, maintenance and quality teams to optimise performance and execute batch and continuous processes.
• Prepare accurate shift reports, production logs and operational KPIs.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) procedures and conduct risk assessments.
• Operate industrial chemical processing equipment such as boilers, cooling towers and water‑treatment units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a process‑oriented manufacturing environment (fertilizer, chemical or oil & gas) with supervisory responsibility.
• Strong safety awareness and knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SCADA/DCS control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID’s and engineering drawings.
• Experience operating boilers, cooling towers and water‑treatment units.
• Familiarity with automated production systems and safety compliance procedures.
