Software Developer - Engineering Support, Manager

About the role

PwC's ETIC advisory practice in Cairo is looking for a manager-level Software Developer in Engineering Support. The role sits within the technology line of service, where software engineers design, code and test applications that support digital transformation and client needs. The position focuses on API portfolios and microservices architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements with stakeholders (technical and architectural focus) and create high-level solution designs and technical architectures aligned with best practices and compliance.
• Write technical specifications for the development team, including user stories with acceptance criteria, and track their implementation.
• Develop REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications; test implementations against acceptance criteria using Postman.
• Provide expert engineering support to internal and external developers delivering an API portfolio.
• Design, implement and test the architecture for API microservices and contribute to continuous service improvement.
• Ensure infrastructure components meet performance and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (essential).
• 7+ years of solid experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable services and platforms.
• University degree; a Software Engineering diploma or Master's is a plus.
• German is a big plus.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications (mandatory).
• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS knowledge needed.
• Postman for testing.
• Preferred: CI/CD, API management, C#/.NET, C++, and ATDD.
