Software Development Senior Manager (SDM) – Technical Delivery

About the role

The Software Development Senior Manager (SDM) / Technical Delivery Senior Manager will lead a large multi‑tower squad of 30+ engineers delivering mobile, backend and QA streams for complex digital banking transformations. The role ensures technical alignment, delivery predictability and risk control across the program.

Key responsibilities

• Own the solution blueprint for mobile apps, micro‑services, APIs, data flows, test strategy and observability.
• Maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and enforce design guardrails, domain boundaries and API contracts.
• Drive non‑functional requirements (performance, availability, security, privacy, compliance) from design through testing.
• Run API review board, approve versioning, backward compatibility, error models, timeouts/retries and deprecation timelines.
• Define and enforce engineering standards: branching model, CI/CD policy, code quality thresholds, static analysis, unit/integration test coverage gates.
• Embed security by design using OWASP MASVS/ASVS, secure coding, secrets management, PII minimisation and encryption in transit/at rest.
• Own production‑readiness checklists, runbooks, on‑call rotations, monitoring dashboards, rollback plans, rate‑limit and kill‑switch mechanisms.
• Maintain a technical dependency matrix, create integrated technical plans and remove blockers daily.
• Provide a single technical voice to project directors, publish weekly technical status reports and chair change‑advisory reviews.
• Calibrate skill‑to‑work mapping, propose ramp‑up plans, mentor engineers and align hiring with tower leads.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience leading large, cross‑functional engineering squads.
• Strong background in software architecture, micro‑services, API design and mobile application development.
• Demonstrated ability to govern delivery, manage technical dependencies and drive production‑grade releases.
• Experience with security standards, compliance requirements and observability practices.
