Software Development Senior Manager (SDM) / Technical Delivery Senior Manager

About the role

ETIC, part of PwC, is looking for a Software Development Senior Manager (SDM) / Technical Delivery Senior Manager in Cairo. The role keeps technical alignment, delivery predictability and risk control across large multi-tower squads in complex projects such as CBD and ICAP, where over 30 engineers work on mobile, backend and QA streams. It bridges engineering depth and delivery governance, turning architectural vision into reliable, production-grade releases.

Key responsibilities

• Own the solution blueprint across mobile apps, microservices, APIs, data flows, test strategy and observability, and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
• Enforce design guardrails, drive NFRs (performance, availability, security, privacy, compliance) and ensure they are designed, implemented and tested
• Run the API review board (versioning, backward compatibility, error models, timeouts/retries, idempotency), approve breaking changes and manage deprecation timelines
• Own branching model, CI/CD policy, code quality thresholds, static analysis, unit/integration test minimums and coverage gates, and standardise logging, tracing, metrics and feature flags
• Embed security and compliance by design (OWASP MASVS/ASVS, secure coding, secrets policy, PII minimisation, encryption) and SDLC controls (peer reviews, SBOM, dependency scanning, secure builds, artifact signing)
• Own production readiness: Go-Live checklist, runbooks, on-call rotations, monitoring dashboards, rollback plans, rate limits and kill switches, and chair the change advisory technical review
• Maintain the technical dependency matrix, create the integrated technical plan and remove technical blockers daily
• Act as single technical voice to the Project Director, SoS and client architects, and publish weekly technical status covering risks, decisions, SLOs, defects and velocity
• Calibrate skill-to-work mapping, propose ramp plans, pairing and mentoring, and align with tower leads on hiring and rotation

Required profile

• Experience as a senior technical leader managing large squads and complex projects
• Ability to own architecture decisions and drive delivery governance
