Software Engineer – JavaScript Modernization

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Aspire, you will support the modernization of the JavaScript ecosystem across a large enterprise portfolio. You will assist with migrating over 2,000 applications to the latest JavaScript versions and help transition teams from npm to pnpm.

Key responsibilities

• Support the JavaScript ecosystem modernization across enterprise applications.
• Assist with the migration of 2,000+ applications to the latest JavaScript versions.
• Assist with the migration from npm to pnpm.
• Collaborate with teams across Indeed to facilitate migrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application migration issues.
• Help automate migration workflows and dependency management where possible.
• Document migration patterns, dependencies, and operational processes.
• Ensure build stability, performance, and compatibility across migrated applications.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with JavaScript.
• Experience migrating applications to newer JavaScript versions.
• Experience using pnpm and npm.
• Deep understanding of the JavaScript open‑source ecosystem.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve migration issues.
• Ability to work flexible hours overlapping US CST.
• Experience with large‑scale application modernization projects.
• Familiarity with AI tools, build optimization and dependency management.
