Software Engineer - Node.JS

About the role

CEQUENS is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to help build scalable, high‑performance messaging and automation systems. You will work across the stack, designing robust backend services, integrating AI capabilities, and connecting third‑party messaging platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Architect systems with performance, reliability and scalability in mind.
• Build and optimise message‑queue‑driven workflows and asynchronous processing.
• Create interactive node‑based UIs for workflow builders using React Flow.
• Integrate with Meta APIs, WhatsApp Business Platform and payment gateways.
• Implement AI/ML features such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and ranking systems.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and engineering teammates.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code and contribute to technical decisions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Python.
• Hands‑on experience with message queues (BullMQ, ActiveMQ).
• Solid understanding of system design and scalable architecture.
• Experience with MongoDB and Redis.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and pragmatic engineering mindset.
• Excellent communication and a genuine team‑player attitude.
