Steel Structures Technical Office Manager

About the role

We are looking for a strategic and detail‑oriented Steel Structures Technical Office Manager to lead our technical office. The role will oversee engineering workflows, shop‑drawing production, estimation and technical compliance for large‑scale construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and optimise workflow policies and standards for the steel structures technical office.
• Review and approve shop drawings, connection details and fabrication drawings.
• Validate Bill of Quantities, material take‑offs and budget estimation reports.
• Lead technical coordination meetings with owners, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Resolve complex structural engineering issues, contractual variations and claims.
• Audit and approve subcontractor submittals, progress invoices and material selections.
• Mentor and develop the engineering team to maximise productivity.
• Coordinate closely with procurement and fabrication workshops to align with project schedules.
• Provide strategic technical risk assessments to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (post‑graduate degree a plus).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in steel structures technical office, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in mega‑construction or steel‑fabrication projects.
• Strong leadership, team‑building and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
