Steward – Hotel Dishwashing & Operations

About the role

The Steward ensures the smooth operation of the hotel's dishwashing and related support services. Working on all shifts, you will guarantee that clean wares are available, equipment functions correctly, and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the property.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; return soiled items for re‑scrubbing.
• Monitor water temperature, chemical levels, and select the appropriate dishwasher cycle.
• Document all processes and maintain records of cleaning activities.
• Clean and maintain the dishwashing machine, including trash removal, spray‑arm cleaning, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Coordinate duties with staff on all shifts to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor buffet preparation equipment and hand it over fully functional.
• Assist senior staff and assume departmental responsibility in their absence.
• Control employee entry/exit times, break hours, and garbage collection areas.
• Participate in Emergency Response Teams and implement energy‑saving and waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Apply quality management and food safety systems and perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Primary school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, or 1 year in a lower‑level position with demonstrated competence.
• Prior training in dishwashing operations or related hospitality functions.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
