Steward – Hotel Utility Cleaner

About the role

The Steward (Utility Cleaner) at Sheraton Alexandria works full‑time to support essential hotel functions. This role assists across departments such as kitchen, food & beverage, and laundry, ensuring that guests enjoy clean linen, spotless dining ware, and well‑maintained equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and clean dining ware and linen for guest use.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, linen washers and dryers.
• Transport dishware and linens throughout the hotel.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and reach overhead or below the knees as required.
• Follow safety procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions, and uphold uniform and appearance standards.
• Develop positive relationships with colleagues and support team goals.

Required profile

• No formal education or prior experience required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb and standing for long periods.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards, and professional communication.

Required skills

• Operation of dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, linen washers and dryers.
• Basic cleaning techniques and equipment handling.
