Steward

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Steward to join the operations team at Rixos Premium Seagate in Sharm El Sheikh. The role ensures that all tableware, kitchen utensils and buffet equipment are cleaned, stored and ready for service while supporting overall hotel hygiene and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, pull and stack cleaned items; return soiled items for re‑scrubbing.
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels, run the dishwashing machine on the correct cycle and complete required documentation.
• Clean and maintain the dishwasher, including trash removal, spray‑arm cleaning, unclogging jets and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Store clean wares in designated areas and hand over functional buffet equipment to the buffet attendant.
• Coordinate duties with staff on all shifts, control employee entry/exit and break times, and handle junior staff requests.
• Manage garbage collection areas and participate in the Emergency Response Team.
• Implement energy‑saving and waste‑reduction initiatives and ensure compliance with quality and food‑safety management systems.
• Cover senior staff responsibilities in their absence and perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• At least a primary‑school diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a hotel or similar hospitality environment, or 1 year in a lower‑level position with demonstrated competence.
• Previous training in the related field and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work flexible hours and collaborate with a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Dishwashing machine operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
• Waste‑management and environmental‑safety procedures.
