Storeman – Mining Warehouse Operations

About the role

The Storeman supports AngloGold Ashanti’s Sukari gold mine by managing the receipt, storage, and issue of materials and spare parts across surface and underground warehouse areas. This role ensures accurate inventory records, safe handling of hazardous substances, and timely availability of supplies to keep mining, processing, and maintenance activities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and put away deliveries, conducting visual checks, quantity verification, and compliance with safety and traffic rules.
• Allocate approved storage locations, label SKU/stock cards, and bin items correctly to protect integrity and facilitate retrieval.
• Record all receipts in SAP or controlled manual registers and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Handle hazardous and bulk materials such as fuels, lubricants, gases, and chemicals (e.g., cyanide, HCl, NaOH) with proper segregation, bunding, signage, and emergency readiness.
• Validate issue requests, process issues, transfers, and direct issues in SAP, updating stock cards and location records.
• Stage and dispatch urgent materials within agreed service times while ensuring safety and custody.
• Provide shift‑level coordination for store assistants when assigned and communicate inventory risks, discrepancies, and handovers to warehouse leadership.

Required profile

• Experience working in warehouse or store environments, preferably within mining or industrial settings.
• Ability to follow strict safety and hazardous‑material handling procedures.
• Willingness to work a 20/10 roster and perform shift handovers.

Required skills

• SAP (inventory module) for recording transactions.
• Hazardous material handling, including fuels, lubricants, gases, and chemicals.
• Inventory management, binning, labeling, and segregation practices.
