Structural Team Leader

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for an experienced Structural Team Leader to lead and coordinate the structural engineering and technical team throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures the technical accuracy, quality, constructability and timely delivery of structural engineering and construction-related deliverables, working closely with the Project Manager, Technical Manager, BIM team, consultants, subcontractors, QA/QC, planning, procurement and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the structural engineering and technical team, providing technical direction to engineers, coordinators and site teams.
• Plan and allocate structural technical activities according to project priorities and deadlines.
• Review structural design drawings, calculations, specifications, technical reports, reinforcement drawings, steelwork drawings and other deliverables, checking they are practical, coordinated and suitable for construction.
• Review design changes and assess their impact on construction, materials, cost and schedule.
• Identify technical risks, discrepancies and omissions in design information and coordinate their resolution.
• Review and respond to technical queries and RFIs, and coordinate design clarifications with consultants, designers and client representatives.
• Ensure structural works comply with approved drawings, specifications, standards and contractual requirements.
• Support the construction team in resolving structural technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and construction.
• At least 3 years in a senior structural engineering or team leadership position.
• Strong experience in major building, commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure or mixed-use projects.
• Proven experience leading structural engineering or technical teams.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Professional engineering certification or membership with a recognised engineering body is an advantage.

Required skills

• Structural design review, construction support, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Multidisciplinary coordination with architects and MEP.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, foundations, piling, precast concrete, post-tensioned structures, masonry and structural interfaces with façade, architectural and MEP systems.
