Supply Chain Director

About the role

The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading all supply chain functions, from strategic sourcing and purchasing to logistics, warehousing and distribution of finished goods. This role ensures that procurement processes are efficient, compliant and aligned with corporate objectives, while driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation across the end‑to‑end supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Direct purchasing, logistics, soft‑goods warehousing and material control activities, from forecast receipt to final inventory placement.
• Select and negotiate with vendors, manage major contracts and maintain compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical standards.
• Lead the design, implementation and optimisation of SAP for procurement and supply‑chain processes.
• Develop and continuously improve supplier programmes, SOPs and lean/kaizen initiatives to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
• Oversee the full production flow, ensuring raw‑material acquisition, manufacturing, storage, handling and final product distribution meet targets.
• Establish and monitor departmental budgets, KPIs and annual goals in line with corporate objectives.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect operational and reputational integrity.
• Coach and mentor teams on cGMP, quality control and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical, Business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of operations/production experience, including at least 5 years in strategic sourcing or purchasing within a developed industry.
• Proven track record of leading large, cross‑functional supply‑chain teams and delivering measurable performance improvements.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, cGMP and risk management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP procurement modules.
