About the role
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a Supply Chain Officer to ensure that orders for humanitarian aid are processed efficiently and reach the field in a timely manner. The role supports logistics operations across the country, coordinating with procurement, warehouse, and transport teams to meet the needs of beneficiaries.
Key responsibilities
- Provide regular order updates to customers, highlighting any issues or expected delays.
- Initiate and monitor reports for items on order, ensuring processing for sourcing, picking, packing and shipping.
- Track movement of goods, coordinate transportation and resolve customer complaints.
- Review back‑orders, verify quantity‑packaging matches, and follow up on urgent medical and non‑medical items with the procurement team.
- Implement and improve customer service procedures, manage import/export permits, and conduct monthly reviews of short‑expiry stock.
- Identify slow‑moving or obsolete items, propose alternatives, and support kitting activities including work‑order creation and stock reservation.
- Participate in warehouse stock‑taking and reconciliation activities.
Required profile
- Good health and ability to pass a medical check‑up before field deployment.
- Valid driving licence for manual transmission vehicles.
- Willingness to accept unaccompanied postings for at least 24 months.
- Commitment to the ICRC’s principle of neutrality and humanitarian values.
